Locally-Led Development

Partners of the Americas connects volunteers, international development professionals, governments, businesses, and higher education institutions to implement programs in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa.

Connect, serve, and change lives through partnerships, locally-led development, and volunteerism

For over 60 years, Partners of the Americas has been built on a simple but powerful idea: change happens when people show up for each other.

Our network of members, chapters, and volunteers turns that idea into real action — in communities across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Communities know what they need

Partners of the Americas believes in the power of people-to-people connections. Through diverse Chapters across the Western Hemisphere, Partners is able to advance its mission and vision globally.

Traditional Chapters

Non-profit organizations in their home states/countries that organize events and locally-led development projects to continue promoting the mission, vision, and values of Partners of the Americas.

Associate Chapters

An unincorporated organization in which individuals form a duly organized group within and for a defined geographic boundary that conduct community service and volunteer projects to continue promoting the mission, vision, and values of Partners of the Americas.

PartnersCampus Chapters

Student-led organizations based at education institutions (secondary and higher education campuses) that organize events and participate in community service projects that continue promoting the mission, vision, and values of Partners of the Americas.

Community-led initiatives that create lasting personal and civic connections across borders

Since 1983, Partners of the Americas has worked with the U.S. Department of State to strengthen ties between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean. The Education and Culture Program funds professional exchanges, community-led initiatives, and travel grants that create lasting personal and civic connections across borders — addressing shared challenges like migration, instability, and mutual misunderstanding.

Building knowledge across the Americas

From student exchanges to community-led cultural programs, Partners of the Americas connects people to the knowledge, skills, and networks they need to lead change in their communities.

We partner with higher education institutions to provide connections, financial support mechanisms, and meaningful international experiences to create sustainable community-based initiatives, personal and professional development, and increased cultural awareness throughout the Western Hemisphere.
