Silvia Garcia serves as an Associate Director within the Agriculture & Food Security Unit at Partners of the Americas. She will work on the USDA Food for Progress Mauritania program, which is aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and trade.
Before joining Partners, Silvia worked with different nongovernmental organizations, leading international cooperation projects around economic development. She supported micro and small businesses, and building business economic opportunities for vulnerable communities in Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Panama, Kenya, and Honduras. Silvia also worked in the private sector leading shared value initiatives with micro entrepreneurs and farmers in Colombia.
Silvia holds an MSc. in social innovation and entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. in public affairs and international relations from Externado University in Colombia. Silvia is originally from Bucaramanga, Colombia, and is passionate about finding sustainable and systemic solutions to social and environmental challenges.
