Miguel Martinez

Miguel Martinez is the Chief Development Officer where he will lead Partners of the Americas in expanding giving from institutional and individual donors.

His career has been exclusively within the non-profit sector. His experience spans over twenty-five years primarily in fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, board relations and donor relations.

Prior to joining Partners of the Americas, Miguel served as the Vice President of Development at the Black Ensemble Theater. Other past positions: Vice President of Development/Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, Vice President of Advancement/Casa Central, Chief Development Officer/Delta Chi Educational Foundation.

Miguel received his master’s degree in non-profit administration from North Park University and bachelor’s degree in urban development from Michigan State University. In addition, he has two certificates from North Park University in Board Governance and Nonprofit Management. Also, he is a graduate of the Martin Luther Kings, Jr. King Center for Social Change Internship Program and New Detroit’s Hispanic Leadership Development Program. Miguel is a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity (Michigan State University Chapter).

He is an avid runner that includes completing seven marathons. Miguel also enjoys the arts, reading, the theatre, attending sporting events and movies.

Miguel was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived in Chicago for several years. He resides in Maryland with his wife Norma. He has one son, Matthew.
