Alberto Duarte is a Field Technician in cacao and departmental agroforestry for the Cacao for Development Project (C4D). He is an Agricultural Technologist with 10 years of experience in the high agroforestry sector, possessing extensive knowledge of cacao, coffee, and various fruit crops such as Valencia orange, Tahiti lime, avocado, and banana, as well as in livestock management. Alberto has provided personalized technical assistance to producers, from soil characterization to bringing various crops into production. He has trained groups of producers using Farmer Field School (ECA) methods, field days, and method demonstrations like GIRAS. In the forestry sector, he has knowledge of identifying forest species, their reproduction through seedlings or seeds, nursery construction, nursery material production, phytosanitary management, pruning, fertilization, and training workgroups in ecological restoration. Alberto approaches challenges and goals set by the organization with seriousness, showing adaptability to changing team dynamics, ease in teamwork, and the ability to work under high pressure to solve problems efficiently and achieve productivity goals.
