October 31, 2022: Bogotá, Colombia – Partners of the Americas will convene its staff, International Board members, volunteer Chapters, and community members from across the Americas for the “Our Roots, Partners on the Ground Summit 2022” in Bogotá, Colombia. From November 1-4, 2022, over 160 individuals representing the organization will come together to learn and discuss the importance of partnerships, volunteerism, and locally-led development.
Partners of the Americas’ (Partners) mission is to connect people and organizations across and within borders to serve and change lives through lasting partnerships. These partnerships create opportunity, foster understanding, and solve real-life problems.
The Summit strives to connect and foster positive interactions and relationships across Partners’ network; assemble the International Board of Directors and host the fall Board Meeting; and to engage in technical discussions on volunteerism, partnerships, and locally-led development.
“We are discussing volunteerism and partnerships because these are part of our legacy and part of the future of our work. They were core to our mission in 1964 and they remain core to our mission today. We should also be aware of the transformations taking place in the international development community. Locally-led development guides many of our programs and it is something that organizations across the globe are discussing more and more. We need to practice this to make a difference on the ground and in the communities we serve.” – John McPhail, Partners President and CEO
