Position Summary
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and technical oversight for a large-scale school feeding and education program in Latin America. The COP will be responsible for achieving program results related to improved student nutrition, increased school attendance and retention, strengthened education systems, and sustainable local supply chains supporting school meal delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic vision and overall management of the program, ensuring high-quality implementation and achievement of results.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across education, nutrition, supply chain, finance, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Serve as primary liaison with government ministries, local partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee integration of school feeding with education quality, community engagement, and local procurement approaches.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, financial management standards, and reporting requirements.
- Guide adaptive management based on data, learning, and performance monitoring.
- Represent the program in national and regional coordination forums.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in education, international development, nutrition, public policy, or related field.
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience managing large-scale development programs, including senior leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience in education systems strengthening, school feeding, nutrition, or social services programming.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams in complex operating environments.
- Strong experience working with government institutions and local partners in Latin America.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in Spanish required; English proficiency required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Chief of Party or Deputy COP experience.
- Experience integrating local procurement or value chain approaches into social programs.
- Strong background in donor compliance and performance management.
