Announcing the What Works 2022 Conference – Partnering for Inclusive Growth
March 28-31, 2022
February 1, 2022, Washington, D.C. – Partners of the Americas (POA) will hold its annual What Works event virtually from March 28-31, 2022 under the theme Partnering for Inclusive Growth. The conference is designed to pull together volunteers, organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies from 30 countries across the Americas to exchange best practices, present local initiatives, and form lasting connections, all to emphasize the strengthening of partnerships for inclusive growth across the Americas. This conference is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. government and administered by Partners’ Education and Culture Program.
As put in the words of a previous participant, Ana Luísa Coelho from Goiânia, Brazil, “What Works is an event that allowed me to meet people, projects, initiatives and renew the desire to do more, to do differently.”
The virtual conference will be held over four days during the last week of March and will include four hour-long sessions speaking about what works for inclusive social and equitable growth across the Americas. The speakers and facilitators will represent diverse areas of expertise, such as youth development, education, economic development, and environmental sustainability. The virtual conference will consist of hour-long panel sessions showcasing local initiatives and interactive roundtables, and will feature a poster center for people to publish their initiatives to receive feedback. Additionally, the conference will launch a series of five workshops available to all conference participants to be held from April through June.
The conference currently has a call for submissions open from January 10 to February 12, inviting individuals, grassroots organizations, social entrepreneurs and businesses, and others to submit their abstracts for posters or workshops. While the posters will be featured during the conference, the workshop sessions will be scheduled in collaboration with the accepted submitters after the conference.
Registration for the conference will open on February 10, 2022. Click here for more information.
