Partners of the Americas (Partners) is an NGO based in Washington D.C – United States, founded in 1964 with the objective of creating regional cooperation ties with the countries of the Americas to promote social development. Partners has had presence for more than 50 years and has carried out programs to conduct educational exchanges, combat child labor, promote youth leadership, and promote agriculture and food security.
The Mexico Migration Messaging Project (MMMP) employs an innovative communications strategy to increase migrants’ awareness of the risks and costs of illegal migration to the United States. By helping to counter misinformation, the project aims to empower migrants with information and deter illegal migration.
The objective is achieved through several innovative communication activities:
- Awareness-raising campaigns about the risks of illegal migration on Instagram, Facebook, X, WhatsApp, and other social media channels.
- Collaborations with social media influencers to expand the campaign’s reach.
- A regional digital advertising initiative that involves running digital advertising campaigns of migration-related information in priority countries in the region.
- Digital monitoring of migration-related scams on social media platforms and popular messaging applications and developing counter-messages to combat misinformation.
To support the technical activities of the project, MMMP is contracting a consultant to serve as the project’s community manager for a period of nine months, starting August 1st, 2026. S/he will manage the project’s social media platforms and digital advertising; contribute to the awareness-raising campaigns; participate in collaborations with social media influencers and content creators; monitor social media platforms and messaging applications to identify misinformation on migration; and produce counter messages to combat misinformation.
Principal Responsibilities
The community manager will assist in project activities related to social media and digital advertising. Responsibilities will include:
Social Media Platforms:
Produce monthly social media calendars, including production of short videos, graphics, or images in support of social media posts.
Prepare weekly and biweekly metrics reports on the project’s social media platforms.
Digital Advertising:
Support MMMP and U.S. Embassies in the region on digital advertising efforts related to deterring illegal migration.
Configure and monitor biweekly ad campaigns in Meta Ads, Google Ads, X, and other media as required.
Collaboration with social media influencers, content creators, and communications producers:
Identify social media influencers and content creators for potential collaborations.
Work with selected social media influencers and content creators on producing messages connected to MMMP communications objectives.
Work with communications producers to prepare original content to support MMMP communications objectives, such as dramatized videos, explainer videos, testimonials, etc.
Misinformation monitoring and reporting:
Monitor social media platforms to identify publications that promote illegal migration or false narratives regarding migration.
Prepare weekly misinformation reports.
Based on report findings, produce counter-messages to publish on social media.
Minimum Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, Public Relations or relevant subject.
- Demonstrated experience using digital marketing tools, including Google Ads, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, WordPress, and Canva, to support strategic communications and outreach efforts.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain social listening databases to inform messaging strategies.
- Strong background in copywriting, as well as the creation and management of content across various social media platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in graphic design software and social media management tools, with the ability to produce visually compelling content aligned with organizational goals.
- Solid data analysis skills to assess campaign performance and audience engagement.
- Experience in audiovisual production, including both photography and videography, for storytelling and advocacy purposes.
- Minimum two years professional experience in social media management, graphic design, digital communications, and website management.
- Minimum one year professional experience in migration-related communications projects and/or campaigns.
- In-depth knowledge of migration issues, particularly within the Latin American and U.S. context, is highly desirable and informs culturally sensitive communication strategies.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
