Position Summary
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide leadership and strategic oversight for a workforce development initiative in Belize focused on improving employability, aligning training with labor market demand, and strengthening education-to-employment pathways. The COP will work closely with government, private sector, training institutions, and community partners to drive sustainable workforce outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall program strategy, implementation, and performance management.
- Build and manage partnerships with ministries, employers, training institutions, and civil society.
- Oversee development of demand-driven training programs and career pathways.
- Ensure strong integration of private sector needs into workforce programming.
- Manage program operations, staffing, budgets, and donor compliance.
- Drive monitoring, evaluation, learning, and adaptive management.
- Serve as senior representative of the program nationally.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in education, workforce development, economics, public policy, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience leading workforce, education, or youth employment programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with government and private sector partners.
- Strong management and leadership experience in complex programs.
- Knowledge of labor market systems and skills development approaches.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous COP or senior program leadership experience.
- Experience in Caribbean or Central American contexts.
- Background in TVET, employer-led training models, or apprenticeship systems.
