Fall 2025 Community and Volunteer Engagement Internship
Partners of the Americas is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that for more than 60 years has been bringing together people, organizations, and expertise to develop lasting solutions to our hemisphere’s toughest challenges. Partners’ International Office is currently looking for an enthusiastic student to participate in our 2025 Fall Community and Volunteer Engagement Internship, primarily to work on assignments with membership engagement and the Education and Culture Program. Partners’ member community includes over 7,000 community volunteers primarily across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. The overall goal of the Education and Culture Program (E&C) is to foster resilient, sustainable, and connected communities through international exchanges and community projects. E&C has been supported by funding from the U.S. Department of State since 1983.
This position calls for an energetic and well-organized individual with excellent administrative and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will support strengthening the member network community as well as international exchange promotion, selection, and onboarding.
Requirements
A university student currently enrolled in an accredited college/program (or graduated last year). The expected engagement for the internship program is for three to four months. Also, the candidate must present the following skillset:
- Must be able to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week (hybrid/virtually).
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Interest in working with communities across the Western Hemisphere.
- Creative and critical thinking.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Collaboration.
- Communication.
- Cross-cultural competency.
- English proficiency.
- Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency a plus.
Scope of Work
- Support in facilitating Partners member engagement initiatives.
- Improve membership application process by reviewing, recommending, and initiating changes.
- Create promotional materials for open funding competitions, member highlights, etc.
- Support donor reporting including summaries, annexes, and graphs.
- Support database review and cleanup to ensure all data is complete and avoid duplicate information.
- Other duties as assigned.
An important reminder: As an intern in this department, you will have access to sensitive information and may be involved in discussions or have knowledge about issues not available to other staff. Maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when discussing Finance, HR, and Executive issues is of the utmost importance.
