American Youth Leadership Program
This program funded 40 high school youth from the United States on a three-week exchange to Paraguay. The experience focused on dialogue and debate, leadership development and community service, in addition to local environmental issues. Activities included meetings with government officials, visiting important historical and cultural sites, and presentations and volunteer activities facilitated by different civil society organizations. This program was funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.
Partners of the Americas’ 50th Anniversary Convention, Florianopolis, Brazil, 2014
Youth participants engaged in every main session of the convention and took advantage of the wide range of breakout panels and workshops to connect with new people, share ideas and learn about what’s happening in the Partners Network.
Girls Empowerment Seminar in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2013
This conference promoted the rights of girls and young women to participate in all spaces of public life. Participating countries included Brazil, the United States, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay.
2nd World Summit, Barranquilla, Colombia, 2011
Partners and Universidad del Norte partnered with the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) to unite 900 youth from all over the world at the 2nd World Summit in Colombia. The alliance Red2021 was formed between Partners of the Americas and IAVE.
Youth Ambassadors Summit, Panama, 2010
Partners convened over 50 youth from 19 countries for the first-ever Youth Ambassadors Summit.
