Partners' Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer Abe Fisher urges malnourished Haitians to consider rabbit as a sustainable source of protein and income. Abe, a career network engineer and a hobby rabbit farmer from Pennsylvania, recently returned from 2 weeks in Haiti in which he exchanged best practices around rabbit breeding.
Doudly Elius was visiting America from Haiti during his Partners of the Americas Legislative Fellow program in 2013 when he developed a motor disability. “I struggled a lot to walk, to climb stairs, or even to raise myself up from a chair,” Elius said. Still, New Jersey, where he was stationed, was well-equipped to support his needs.
Partners of the Americas’ Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer Rebecca Roebber traveled to Panama to support La Asociacion de Profesionales y Tecnicos Ngäbe - Buglé de Bocas de Toro (APROTENG). Rebecca spent her two weeks in Panama training a group of women on marketing and the production of cocoa by-products.
