Empowering Girls Through Paraguay Okakuaa on International Day of the Girl

idgmain_2_0.jpgIn honor of the International Day of the Girl, we are celebrating Partners of the Americas’ (Partners) U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL)-funded Paraguay Okakuaa project that combats child labor and forced labor in Paraguay by empowering vulnerable families through educational and economic opportunities, with a special focus on women and girls. 

Buenos Aires Youth Leaders Form Cultural Connections and Understandings in D.C.

 

IMG_3501_0.jpgPartners of the Americas was delighted to welcome students from the Buenos Aires Provincial Youth Leaders Program to Washington, D.C. on September 7. This group of nine high-school students, along with one mentor, is the first cohort to visit the United States through this program. In partnership with America Solidaria, the program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State through the Embassy of Argentina in the U.S.  

Providing Fortified Food for Eight Million Haitians

20150226_8618 - Stephanie Verganza (2)_0.jpgSince its creation in July 2017, the USAID-funded Ranfose Abitid Nitrisyon pou Fè Ogmante Sante Program (RANFOSE), implemented by Partners of the Americas, has sought to fight malnutrition in Haiti through food fortification. In cooperation with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, (GAIN), the program advocates for policy changes that have led to providing approximately 7-8.5 million Haitians with access to fortified foods.

Celebrating Women Humanitarians

Since 2008, August 19 has been designated as World Humanitarian Day to pay tribute to the aid workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and to rally support for people impacted by crises around the world. In honor of this year’s theme, #WomenHumanitarians, we celebrate the contributions of all of our volunteers, especially our women volunteers. In 2018, 6,122 Partners volunteers and members served more than 11,000 hours.

World Youth Skills Day 2019

Today, Partners of the Americas commemorates World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) by recognizing the power of adequate skills training to combat youth unemployment. This year, WYSD centers on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all under Sustainable Development Goal 4. At Partners, we work toward this goal by teaching youth marketable skills and emphasizing the importance of education to transform lives around the world.
